A photograph of Michelle Obama sharing a hug with former President George W. Bush has gone viral on social media today.
Bush was a featured speaker at the opening of the Smithsonian Institute National Museum of African American History and Culture, which he had a hand in constructing. Bush signed legislation to permit its creation when he was in office.
The First Lady hugged the former president in greeting when they arrived at the event. The gesture touched many, seeing the heartwarming picture as a rare moment of bipartisan camaraderie during a particularly vicious election cycle.
